experiment: mono printing
first session of monoprinting testing out process, materials and visual language
I spent 2 hours doing some small mono prints to get some ideas going for my studio project. I tested out a few methods of printing: drawing on the back of paper, scratching into the ink with a pen and finger, drawing onto the ink, painting the image onto the plate. I had the most success with the charcoal ink where I used a brush to paint the image directly onto the plate and then printed it, as it shows my style of drawing clearly and is easy to control.
